The Laws of the Campaign
Preamble
I've been playing, either as a DM or a player, over OpenRPG for about five years now. In that time, I estimate that I have seen about 60 players between 5 different campaigns. For the most part, players have been pretty good. Unfortunately, in any large group, you always get knuck dragging mouth breathing social troglodytes who fit the whole "gamer stereotype" to a T. Since I've had to deal with these people fairly regularly, I have come to a zero tolerance policy. I put a lot of effort into my campaigns, and I expect a minimum level of courtesy and effort. While I realize that this sounds harsh, and I apologize for that, I will not sacrifice my time and energy for those who do not appreciate it.
Like all good laws, there are 3.
Law 1: Attendance[/u]
All players are expected to give notice TWENTY FOUR HOURS[/u] before game time if they are unable to attend. Either post to the wiki or to here if you cannot attend. Failure to do so counts as one strike. Three absences without prior notice will result in being asked to leave the campaign. I know that each and every player reading this has access to the internet. Taking 10 seconds out of your schedule to post and say that you are not coming is not too difficult.
The game is scheduled to start on the hour. After 15 minutes past the hour, players will be considered absent for the session and will not receive xp for that session unless, of course, prior notice has been given. Again, it's very bad form to make the other five or six of us sit on our thumbs waiting for you. If you're going to be late, leave a notice.
Rule 2: The Forums[/u]
The forums are here so that we can continue play during the week. It is also a great place to deal with time consuming details that can badly drag on in a session, like division of treasure for example. I expect each player to post at least once a week on the forums, even if it is just to say that you've read the forums.
Do not come to the game and then start complaining about not knowing what's going on when things are posted to the forums because you haven't read them. Again, please be considerate of the other players.
Law 3: Have Fun[/u]
